Deb Lemcke

I was born in Canada, grew up in Queensland, and now live and work in Dja Dja Warrung country. I am interested in exploring how creativity can be used as the basis for genuine connection. This interest stems from my communications and event management background, and was central to my studies when I recently completed my Master of Arts (Art in Public Space).

My current work, The Advice Project, involves collecting the best advice people have received and who gave it to them. My hypothesis is that most of the critical ‘life’ advice we receive is generally shared in mundane domestic settings. Never underestimate them is my first piece in this project, exploring where and how we value these people, places and things.
