Recycled wire and found objects
On moving to Castlemaine five years ago, I started collecting and recycling metal objects, mainly from my family farm on the Moolort Plains, where I grew up.
The rusty fencing wire was a successful medium for the fabrication of woven baskets, and the found rusted items could be incorporated into the structures to suggest agricultural and domestic themes.
I have always enjoyed knitting and weaving with natural fibres and extending these techniques into metal forms allows me to blend this interest with my love of landscape gardening.
