This work explores the layered complexity of belonging. Multiple layers of paint carry accumulated expectations of society, of community, of life itself — a foundation of lived experience across which thick, imperfect lines trace an abstracted floorplan. Spaces where lives intersect, where micro-communities form. The floorplan extends beyond the canvas edge, a reminder that life cannot be contained.
The final layer is textile — deconstructed thread by thread over more than forty hours, hand-pulled, web-like, permeable. It is the overlay that transforms a personal space into something larger: a web of society, of community, of collective life. It evokes the moment a home becomes more than four walls — when we lift our eyes to those around us and feel the pull of something shared. Not structure, but something woven — slowly, imperfectly — through relationship, shared space, and time.
