During the Gather exhibition in 2025, we started a community project to create an artwork for the Castlemaine Safe Space. Over eight public stitching sessions, more than 100 people joined us to sit, stitch, and chat. We talked about words and sentiments that would make us feel safe and cared for in moments of despair. These thoughts and love were then infused stitch by stitch into the work. We would like to thank everyone who participated, and we hope the work brings connection and joy.
